The Glow Worm and the Crow

There was once a crow that came across a glow worm, and was about to capture it. The glow worm saw the crow approaching, and said “Wait my friend, I have something that can be of advantage to you.”

The crow looked puzzled and said, “What is it?”

Seeing the crow showing interest in what it’s saying, the glow worm continued, “I am just one glow worm, but you can find many in this forest. If you want to capture them all, you can follow me and I will lead you to them.” The crow was happy and agreed to follow the glow worm into the forest.

The glow worm took the crow to a place in the forest where a few woodmen lit a fire. It then pointed to the sparks flying from the fire and turned to the crow and said, “Here are the other glow worms, they are all warming themselves near this fire. Once you are done eating these, I can take you to another place where you can find even more glow worms.”

The crow excitedly stared at the glowing sparks coming from the fire, and went ahead to eat a few of them. However, his mouth started burning. He then started screaming and exclaimed, “Ah!! These glow worms look dangerous, it is better I stay away from these.”

The glow worm started chuckling as the crow flew away. He thought to himself – Wisdom Always Outshines Wickedness. And, this my friends is the moral of this story.
